An Ammons Family Update ::

I got this from Buster this afternoon:

I attended the memorial for Billy and Lynn's grandson yesterday--- a very touching and moving ceremony. The service was held in a large non denominational church which housed over 1500 and was full. Tremendous community support. The family was able to include uplifting personal messages that would probably would have been very hard to compose in a short amount of time Angie's recorded an audio which was the story of an 11 years old life and scores of individual and family pictures were displayed on the large video screens. She weaved a heart felt motherly message into a touching tribute. Billy addressed the crowd and thanked everyone for their generosity and support. He also asked that everyone keep Matty in their prayers. As you are aware if you look up the definition of Christian in a dictionary his picture will be of what one should be in both thought and deed. His spirit will move the family forward. An assistant minister read a message from Logan, the 15 year old sister, to her 11 year old brother There were excellent messages from two ministers at the start and finish and there was a concluding message from Angie which contained the night prayer and the laugh of the 11 year old. Obviously these are trying times. The round trip to the hospital is over 100 miles. Fortunately the father, now in rehab, has been moved to the same hospital as the son. I thought Billy and Lynn looked exhausted. They will be in Ga. for a long time. Many of the friends and neighbors have donated air miles so that the 2 sisters and brother can fly up on weekends. There are baby steps of improvement for the 13 year old. There is a facebook website 'Caymol Strong' where the family post updates and there is a fund where you can contribute financially. B.

A 12/9 Update from Buster ::

Talked w/ Billy this pm and it was a good conversation. Matty, the son, worst period was 3 to 4 days after the accident. When he is moved the numbers spike up but they are slowly reducing the dosage for the hospital induced coma. Baby steps of slight improvement but a long, long way to go. The father had surgery on his hip today and is in intensive care but not due to the surgery. He should be out of ic soon. The family has been deeply touched by the outpouring of support and Pecan appreciates and has responded to all of the text. If you would like his text number please contact me. B.

A December 7 Update

I just got this from Buster a short while ago:
> I just talked to Lynn for the first time. They are hanging in with astounding support from the Buford community. Folks are pooling frequent flyer miles so family far away can fly in to take shifts helping with all that needs to be done. B and L are planning to go home in next few days to take care of some things but will go back by wkend probably. They have removed a good bit of blood from Matty's lungs. No change in pressure but he is still stable/critical. Teo may be having surgery Wed or Thurs. Dabo called the family Sat before the game to offer his prayers and support--what a guy. Just keep lifting those prayers up. There is a fund online--gofundme.com--which donations can be made to for expenses which will be abundant on top of insurance. Some More Extremely Sad News ::

I got this from Buster earlier today:

Billy and Lynn Ammon's youngest grandson in Ga. was killed in a car wreck. His brother is in intensive care.

Apparently a car swerved to miss a deer and hit the car that the brothers were in which was being driven by their father who is in a separate hospital.

Please keep the family in your thoughts and prayers.

Here is a link to the local Gwinnett County, Ga. newspaper with the story:

http://www.gwinnettdailypost.com/local/cities/buford/suwanee--year-old-dies-in-car-wreck-involving-deer/article_75abaee2-80ee-5858-891c-a1e7ffc77166.html

The story gives some details on the accident which took the life of Billy and Lynn's 11 year old grandson. His 13 year old brother is in intensive care and will, apparently, be undergoing brain surgery very soon. Their father, also critically injured, is in another hospital.

The Ammons family is certainly in my and Jeanie's thoughts at this time and I'll update this when I may receive further news.
