I visited with Pris McLeod today. Mary Holland Young was also visiting with her. She is doing well and is in good spirits. The tests after the surgery showed that she did not have ovarian cancer. She had appendix cancer, which is rare. The cancer had not spread to the intestines and the liver only had a few 'flakes' on the outside. There was an egg shaped mass in the abdominal cavity. She will have to have chemo treatments. She is at her home in Sumter.
This is the first I've ever heard of appendix cancer, but I'm very glad that the prognosis seems to be good!
