It is beautiful country up there. I spend a year on Adak Island in the Aleutians when I was in the Navy and absolutely loved it although I did no hunting or fishing even though there were caribou on the island and the fishing would have been great. I envy Sandy having had the opportunity to have lived in Alaska for so many years. I would love to go back and visit. Actually, one of my Facebook friends lives on the island now and leads birding tours. The Navy abandoned the island back in the late 90's and now only about 85 people live there.
